Biblical and Intercultural StudiesThe Open University

Most students who come to All Nations are in our Undergraduate Programme. If you are heading for cross-cultural mission service and have one, two or three years available for training then the Undergraduate Programme is for you.

All Nations does not have degree-awarding powers, which is why we work in partnership with the Open University who have accredited us to offer OU-validated Cert (HE), Dip (HE) and BA (Hons) programmes of study, as well as offering our own non-validated ANCC Certificate and ANCC Diploma programmes. Students can transfer from an OU programme to an ANCC programme but not vice versa.

The OU degree programme consists of the 1-year Certificate and 2-year Diploma of Higher Education or the 2- or 3-year BA (Hons) Degree Programme in 'Biblical and Intercultural Studies'. Each year is designed so that one year of study can lead into the next, offering students a unique learning experience, guiding and equipping them as they progress through the course. These are full-time courses that run on-site at All Nations from September to June/July.

Starting from September 2020, the final year of the degree programme is available via flexible delivery (i.e. remote learners may learn with and at the same time as those in the classroom).

  • Degree

The OU-validated degree course is aimed at those preparing for long-term cross-cultural mission service and who appreciate the balance of practical and academic study.  Overall, the degree programme will enable you to develop communication skills and the ability to analyse, evaluate and design suitable approaches to diverse cultural contexts. Apart from a three week supervised placement, most of the programme is delivered residentially at the College site, but as from September 2020, students will be able to take the final year of the BA (Hons) in Biblical and Intercultural Studies either residentially (through campus-based learning) or via Flexible Delivery mode, where remote and campus based students study together. The College plans to extend this to other years of study as soon as possible.
